System Audit is a type of Audit, and it also has its sub-types. To know about the system audits we should first know about Audit.

#What is Audit?

An audit is an independent procedure which is conducted systematically by following the right documentation process.  The purpose of the Audit depends on the criteria and objectives of the Audit. The Audit is conducted to ensure that the organization is fulfilling the requirements or not.

#Types of System Audit:-

There are only three types of System Audit, and they are:-

First Party Audit:-

The First Party Audit can be said as an Internal Audit. The organization itself can conduct this internal audits, or it can hire any other agency for the internal Audit to assess the internal processes of the organization. In any system such as ISO 9001, 14001, etc., a schedule of annual internal Audit is made.  The frequency of Audit shall be dynamic.

Second Party Audit:-

A customer conducts this type of Audit on its supplier. It means the customer performs an audit of his supplier. In this Audit, both companies or organizations have a business relationship.

Third-Party Audit:-

An external agency conducts this Audit for certification. If the organization fulfills the criteria, then the organization is certified with a certificate. The certification can be ISO 9001, 14001 or any benchmark that the organization awards to the organization. The Certification body and the organization does not have a business relationship in this Audit, and this Audit is only conducted for certification.  During the ISO Certification, the Third Party Audit is conducted.

The Audit is a process in which the working of the system in the organization is analyzed. The auditors conduct the Audit. The ISO Certification bodies also conduct various audits to certify the organization. Getting knowledge about the audits and types of Audit can be helpful for the organization to get the ISO Certification.
